Post subject: Eval just downloaded & installed - Nuetrino CD?  PostPosted: Jan 25, 2007 - 07:39 PM

I have just downloaded and installed the Momentics Eval - Windows Host and
have two quite basic questions:

1. Since this is the current package and is identified as SP3 I'm assuming
that no updates/patches are required. Correct?

2. The Quickstart Guide refers to a QNX Neutrino CD for the target machine.
What is this and where do I get it? Is this the Momentics Eval - QNX
Neutrino x86 Host (that I can somehow use/install without the development
bits)?

Making my best guess that the Momentics Eval - QNX Neutrino x86 Host was
what I should boot on the test/target machine, I gave that a try. I can't
clobber the hard disk on what I have available at the moment so tried
booting from CD. It sort of works in that it does boot but soon stops with

displayed. It does tickle the CD a couple more times but nothing very
interesting or useful happens.

Denny,

One option you can explore is to install the QNX Neutrino x86 Host CD on
VMWare. VMWare player is freely available now.

The eval download site asks you for your host and your target. What did you
select for target? If you selected x86, it has offered you to download the
Neutrino CD. You need a PC with hardware that is supported by QNX Neutrino,
see: http://www.qnx.com/developers/hardware_support/index.html. Or, you
could use VmWare as Bill Graham suggests.

Cheers,

Malte
