Raima, a Birdstep Technology Company (OSE: BIRD), which offers state-of-the-art embedded database and dataflow technologies, today announced that they will be showing their dataFlow technology demo as well as a preview of their upcoming release of RDM Embedded at this year's Embedded World. The show hosted in Nuremberg, Germany runs from March 2nd through March 4th and Raima/Birdstep can be found in booth number 11-336.
"We have shown our dataFlow demo at a couple of events in the US and it has been very well received so we thought it would be a good idea to bring it to Europe and Embedded World is the perfect venue," commented Steinar Sande, CEO of Raima. "In addition to our dataFlow demostration we will also be giving visitors to the booth an inside look at the new features and enhancements in the upcoming release of RDM Embedded." "We have done a significant redesign of the RDM Embedded database engine which has provided us with the ability to take full advantage of today's multicore processors." "Where Raima was fast before it is screaming fast now!"

Raima's RDMe dataFlow technology is a direct response to today's embedded system developers continue to face the difficult problem of efficiently storing and managing large amounts of data on resource-constrained devices. These single computer resource constraint devices range anything from sensors and robots on the shop floor to flight data systems deployed on fighter jets. Adding to this problem is the growing need of business intelligence and enterprise systems to gain access to the data now captured and stored on these devices. More often these days the requirement is to access data in real-time or near real-time. This live demo demonstrates how the RDMe dataFlow technology can be used to move data from one device to aggregation points, business intelligence systems and/or distributing the data to additional devices.

"What is really exciting is RDMe dataFlow engine's ability to not only move data between instances of RDM Embedded and RDM Server but also its unique ability to move data to other non Raima database systems technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft, MySQL, Sybase and the like." "As a result, Raima provides a wholistic solution to the problem of data availability from the smallest devices to the largest enterprise solution," commented Duncan Bates, V.P. Product Management.

About The Raima Database Manager Family
Raima released the first version of the Raima embedded database in 1984. Since then the family has grown into two successful embedded database products. RDM Embedded pioneered the embedded market space under the name dbVista. Building on the success of RDM Embedded, Raima released the product in a client/server configuration under the name Velocis, now called RDM Server.
