Touch Screen Advice Requested

Post by Jerry Kirk » Wed Aug 01, 2001 6:34 pm

Can anyone suggest a touch screen that I can just go "buy" that sits over a
~ 6.4" LCD display that will connect serially and I can get working quickly
for a demo? If the support was in 6.0B, it would be nice but I can move to
6.1 if required.

Thanks for nothin :) I am going ahead and writing a new touch screen driver
based on the "WASP" serial protocol described by:

"
The four wire analogue resistive touchscreen interface can be used in place
of the standard com3 RS232 interface. ....
The touch screen controller contains a 8-bit analogue to digital converter
and transmits a serialised bit stream corresponding to the A/D outputs. Each
time the touch panel position is reported, the X co-ordinate value is
transmitted as an unsigned 8-bit value followed by the Y co-ordinate value,
which is also an unsigned 8 bit value. The Y coordinate value is then sent
again to distinquish between X and Y values.

The serial data is trasmitted at 4800, None, 8, 1
"
I am basing everything off the 6.0 "elo" touch screen driver released in the
DDK.
