Problems with fs-cifs (QNX630 & WinXP)

Post by Martin Nylund » Wed Aug 25, 2004 10:38 am

When I try to mount a share on my Windows XP host using
fs-cifs the system gives following errors:

------------------------8<----------------------------------
# fs-cifs -vv -L -dintern //NY_XP:192.168.105.109:/TEST /tmp ny

run "use fs-cifs" or "fs-cifs -h" for help.

I am able to mount a share on my Linux box running Samba but somehow
the XP mount always fails. I'd be happy with the Linux/Samba mount but
it seems always to "freeze" mystically after a period of time...

Thanks for any help

Ok, my mistake. Apparently it's not enough to share a folder using the WinXP
explorer. You have to do it from the System administration -> System ->
shared folders.
